LONDON, 20 January 2011 – Xchanging (LSE: XCH) has won a contract with BAE Systems Surface Ships to develop Lean Six Sigma capability for the company. This will be done by enhancing the skills of their existing ‘Support Operational Excellence’ process improvement team. Xchanging will provide training and development in the use of the more rigorous methodologies and tools of Six Sigma and its pragmatic integration with Lean methodology.
Xchanging has been providing a range of HR and procurement services to BAE Systems since 2001. As part of this contract, Xchanging will provide training, development and coaching in Lean Six Sigma Process Excellence to the Naval Base Support Leadership Team, Project Champions and Team Leaders.
Commenting on the contract, Mal Lewis, BAE Systems Programme Director Naval Base Support said, "We continue to invest in the skills of our employees to secure the long-term future of the UK’s warship building and support industry.
