London, 11 December 2008 – Xchanging celebrates fifth year of Boat Race sponsorship
The international business processor is proud to be associated with this world-class event of growing international appeal. The 2008 Race attracted a global TV audience of around 200 million television viewers in 112 countries worldwide.
Xchanging’s CEO David Andrews said: "What I like about the Boat Race is the sheer brutality of the event. It is very black and white with one winner and one loser. There are simply no grey areas. The same goes for Xchanging’s business environment where the margins between success and failure are so narrow. There are no prizes for coming second. This is what I find so fascinating about the Boat Race."
World class
The Boat Race is a truly world class event that attracts elite athletes from across the world. "This year we have rowers from 11 countries – the UK, France, Germany, Ireland, Poland, Croatia, the Netherlands, the US, Canada, Australia, New Zealand and a number of Olympians." Mr Andrews, pictured with the event trophy, added: "What’s really impressive is that these athletes are combining a 40-hour rowing week with academic studies, which is no mean feat! Once again, the standard will be phenomenally high and I’m sure we’re in for another nail biting race in 2009."
