LONDON – May 24, 2005 – Xchanging, the leading business processing services provider, announced today that it was awarded the ACORD 2005 Early Certification Award for its Xchanging Distribution Hub (XDH) Document Repository Interoperability service.
The XDH service enables the exchange of business documents over HTTP/S using SOAP (Simple Object Access Protocol) with Attachments. The ACORD SOAP messaging framework is a specification that allows the transportation of business documents, including attachments, throughout the insurance industry with real-time verification of receipt.
XDH functionality is key to the ECF (Electronic Claims File) reform project, which is being run by the Lloyd’s Market Association. The project is intended to deliver the infrastructure needed to handle claims electronically in the Lloyd’s market by April 2006.
“Xchanging continues to show its leadership in the adoption of standards by the London Market,” said Denise Garth, Vice President of ACORD Membership and Development. “Messaging standards are a key tool in modernising the way insurance is transacted.”
