University Hospital Birmingham NHS Foundation Trust (UHB), is pleased to announce that Xchanging has been selected as the preferred partner for the formation of a new HR and payroll business. The new venture will combine the expertise of both organisations and strengthen UHB’s current payroll business, which currently serves 10% of all NHS Trusts across the UK.

Commenting on the announcement Caroline Wigley, UHB’s Director of Organisational Development, said: “This is an extremely exciting development for the Trust. In creating this partnership, we are launching a new and dynamic HR and payroll business that will enhance services delivered to our existing customers and generate new opportunities for other organisations within the NHS to come on board. Xchanging demonstrated the best expertise, value and innovation in their bid, and we are delighted to appoint them as our preferred partner.”

David Andrews, Chief Executive Officer at Xchanging, said: “I am absolutely delighted Xchanging has won the competitive tender for partnership with University Hospital Birmingham NHS Foundation Trust. It’s a landmark appointment for us, marking as it does our first entry into the public sector. We look forward to providing excellence of service and value to University Hospital Birmingham NHS Foundation Trust.”

The partnership will last for a minimum of five years; however, both UHB and Xchanging hope that it will develop into an innovative organisation that will be very successful in the future.
