Xchanging and National Australia Bank UK Enter Agreement to Outsource Procurement-to-Pay Services

03 Jul 2006

National Australia Bank UK (NAB UK) has appointed Xchanging, the business processing services company, to manage indirect spend and transactional procurement processing on behalf of Clydesdale Bank and Yorkshire Bank.

The deal covers all of the indirect spend transacted by Clydesdale Bank, headquartered in Glasgow, and Yorkshire Bank, headquartered in Leeds, both wholly owned subsidiaries of NAB UK. The sourcing categories include: marketing, ATMs, travel, recruitment, facilities/utilities management as well non-core IT spend.

As part of the partnership, Xchanging will also manage the banks’ transactional procurement activity, such as order raising and invoice processing, by delivering a fully managed procure-to-pay service.

David Andrews, Chief Executive Officer of Xchanging, said: “Xchanging’s expertise and purchasing power will quickly deliver real benefits to the two banks. This arrangement, which is one of the largest of its type, reinforces Xchanging’s strong position in the procurement services international marketplace.”

Tom Burns, General Manager, Operations of NAB UK, said: “This exciting partnership supports NAB UK’s simplification strategy, enabling the organisation to focus on its core business functions as we pursue our growth strategy in the UK.”
