ELAXY delivers efficient data archiving services to Fondsdepot Bank

03 Mar 2008

Coburg, 3 March 2008. Fondsdepot Bank (FodB) has outsourced its document archive to ELAXY. Since January 2008, the financial institution can access an integrative archive in ELAXY's Coburg data processing services centre. The outsourcing contract has an initial term of five years. In cooperation with d.velop AG and imbus AG, ELAXY has implemented the outsourcing solution – which comprises archiving and the migration of the old archives "FileNet" and "eFirst" (BancTec) – within a few months only. ELAXY will act as general contractor und will provide all services related to running the data processing centre. d.evelop has designed the new archiving system d.3 whereas imbus AG was responsible for converting the old archive eFirst of BacTec.

By outsourcing its document archive, the Hof-based Fondsdepot Bank wants to simplify its IT infrastructure. "We aim at delivering reliable and cost-efficient services to our customers", Mike Margetts, member of Fondsdepot Bank's management board comments on the cooperation with ELAXY. The central archive in the Coburg data processing centre will provide both the hardware and infrastructure as well as the system for archiving, research and indexing. ELAXY and its partners edited all data of the old systems to allow for a transfer into the new d.3 archive without complications and to enable the Fondsdepot Bank staff to easily access the now structured electronic files. ELAXY will archive both paper documents which will be scanned and indexed with the help of d.evelop software as well as print data streams (COLD – Computer Output on Laser Disc) using a special print data preparation system developed by ELAXY itself.

The archiving solution provides employees with standardised processes and allows for a quick and easy research. Moreover, the number of interfaces could be reduced. The operating, licence and maintenance costs could also be cut. "Both the Fondsdepot Bank employees and our customers will benefit from this solution. We are looking forward to working with ELAXY", Mike Margetts says. Markus Schäferhoff, CEO of ELAXY Business Solution & Services GmbH & Co. KG, says: "Having been the general contractor for the first time, this project was an interesting challenge for us. We are delighted that ELAXY and its partners could perfectly meet Fondsdepot Bank's requirements and provide them with a tailor-made solution."
