The challenge was to achieve significant savings through more efficient procurement - without losing strategic control. The customer chose Xchanging to help with this task and together we created a new model procurement function capable of unlocking hidden value for the customer. This was a world class solution which gave our customer capital upside, dividend and gain-share. What had previously been a burdensome cost centre became a profit centre on a global scale. Its ultimate success was achieved when the customer sold their shares to Xchanging in 2007 for £45 million.
